"At the moment, life is pretty damn great"

Trust me to jinx it, eh?

Holy freaking crap.

I entered a competition a while back, linked in with Radio One's Big Weekend - this "instrument hunt" thing - there were 5 instruments to be won through the week (Gossip's bass, Mark Ronson's keyboard, Scissor Sisters' tambourine, Kasabian's drum and Kaiser Chiefs' guitar). I entered the first day, just for the sheer hell of it, and after a week had past with no response from the BBC, I let it drop from my mind.

Yesterday, however, I received an email from Hugh Garry, creative director of the BBC claiming that I had "won the instrument hunt". I assumed this was just a joke, as it had been so long after the event itself.

I was wrong.

It actually arrived the following day (today) - so I am now the proud owner of The Gossip's bass guitar!

SQUEE!

More vinyl

Bought Terra Naomi's "Say It's Possible" and Razorlight's "Hold On" on vinyl - so that's two more - 4 to go :)

Not only this, MasterCheese and I are getting a business proposal running, we'll see how that works out - this could make up for the lack of the PXC project.

I also got a PayPal account, so I can check that off the list.

Rock Band, Guitar Hero III and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are shaping up to be some of the best games of all time.

At the moment, life is pretty damn great. Going to see the Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand later in the year. That's set to be awesome. See a more hyped up CRAZY version of this here.

Anyway, I'm off to the library. Toodles!

Notice how the only person consistently performing perfectly is the drummer (the hardest part).

List update

- Bought 4 vinyl singles from http://www.recordstore.co.uk> - 6 to go :)

- Perplex City is over, so partnering up with MasterCheese in another project is looking slim.

Bah..

End Of An Era

Well, I suppose some of you may know that Perplex City has... well, died. Kaput. Endof.

And all that jazz.

Find out a bit more here.

Anyway, it's list update time. I have successfully completed 2 of my 101 (almost, well, not almost) tasks.

12/05/07 - Be able to watch a movie at the cinema and NOT get a headache or go to the toilet - DONE - watched Spider-Man 3 all the way through, and didn't suffer from either of those ailments.

20/05/07 - Go on a coach journey for longer than 3 hours and not feel sick - DONE - came back from Birmingham all the way to Ely without a sickness :D

99 to go. Hurrah!

Undeniable

Well, not one person took part in this acting project I did. I'll know not to ask again - sorry for wasting everyone's time.

And I'm trying to change myself for my friends - there are a lot of things I need to work on.

Acting project

Calling all budding film makers and actors!

I am devising a project that provides a serious study into acting... and can offer a bit of fun whilst doing so.

All I need you to do is film a conversation between two people, for about 5 minutes, on anything at all - but keep it clean.

Completely naturally, no scripts.

And we'll see how things work out from there.

All those who contribute will find out more details via email or PM... so go for it :)

April Fools'

Don't believe anything you see on the internet.

Hello, fair reader, I apologise for my long abscence from the blogging community, other commitments have called and... eurgh. Excuses.

Anyway, what's happened? Nothing per se, and I am having a break from everything.

Thank God for Easter holidays.

Wish I could write lyrics, really, I do.

I hate "Lil' Chris".

Found: The Cube. FINALLY

"After two years of searching, solving and shoveling, the Cube Hunters of Earth finally uncovered the location of the Receda Cube at 12.30pm on 4 February, 2007.

One lucky Cube Hunter - Andy Darley from Middlesex (username: astro_random) - will now claim the £100,000 reward. Says Andy: "Of all the 50,000 players, from all these different countries, I never thought for a moment I would be the person to find The Cube. I was playing for the puzzles, and the stories, but it wasn't until only a few days ago that I thought I was in with a chance. As I pulled the Cube from the sticky, wet clay, and even afterwards I was waiting to return The Cube, all I could think about was how bizarre the whole thing really was."

Reportedly, the Receda Cube itself was buried in Wakerley Great Wood, near Stamford, Northamptonshire.

A celebration, during which the reward will be handed over in exchange for the Cube, will be held in London, UK on Saturday 24 February. The specific location will be confirmed nearer the date. Honestly, it will. We're not going to make you hunt for it or anything. We just haven't finalised the party plan yet!

Mind Candy is now hard at work, arranging for the Cube to be returned to the grateful citizens of Perplex City."

FINALLY. Shame it wasn't me who found it though :P

Mentioned

I, lowly little Ben Forbes of Norfolk, was mentioned in Kurt's blog of Perplex City, http://www.thepathofleasttime.com - hurrah! I actually did something to help the denizens of Perplex City for once :)

I also got "squeed" by Jo at Mind Candy, the creators of the whole story :D

Next, I'm on the radio at 7:00 tonight, hurrah. You can download the files when it's been aired though, you could email me at draggles[AT]gmail.com

Life at school by the way... is pretty damn great :)

Also, I got 2 silver cards in 8 packs, so I'm VERY happy today. If karma plays its course, then something majorly bad is coming round the corner.

Two. Count 'em - TWO!

Thanks to an anonymous saviour, my eyebrow is now divided in two. It hurt like hell, but they called me brave, so I'm happy.

Also, treasured blog reader, do me a favour and please pass this link on to as many people as you can: http://www.digg.com/gaming_news/Is_it_possible_to_locate_a_man_given_only_his_photograph_and_first_name

Thanks!

Finally, for a bit of fun...

Put this: "javascript:document.body.contentEditable='true'; document.designMode='on'; void 0" - without the quote marks, into any webpage's address bar, and you can move pictures, text, and everything, to your heart's content.

Returned

Not only have I returned to the internet, Perplex City has also come back from its long, LONG break, and I return with news that WarioWare: Smooth Moves for the Wii is brilliant. That will be all.

The Science Museum

The Science Museum, at the time I went, had an exhibition on about gaming from about 1940 to the present day, with a Wii out in full view and a PS3 tucked away in the corner (as the exhibit WAS owned by Nintendo) and after thrashing MasterCheese and Stone at... Super Smash Bros. Melee, Guitar Hero, a very odd robot PS1 fighting game, and the launch button getting stuck on the Pong machine for Player 2... it was all very enjoyable. And as I suspected, both of them were taller than me. INTIMIDATION!

I've taken some photos of the day, see them at my Flickr set at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/17455174@N00

Perplex City

Tomorrow I'm off to London (early start) to head off to the Science Museum to go to the Game On exhibit, gaming from way-back-when to the present day, along with my Perplex City buddies MasterCheese (Mark) and stone (Peter).

Now Perplex City is a great thing to spend 2 years of your life doing. If you wish to know just what it is, I suggest going to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perplex_City

It's a game... or is it?

Anyway, I'm still rocking out and suchlike. If in the bizarre instance that I do not come back from London... tell my guitar I love it.

NEEYAW!!

My Epiphone Les Paul... is so awesome. I've been rocking out, my hands are breaking AND I LOVE IT.

I've been sleeping round my grandmother's, as my aunt and uncle (who are moving to Spain, and using my nan's house as a temporary place to live) have gone to Spain for a week, and she can't be left alone, and nor can I (not overnight legally, anyway), so we have to sleep over there. Getting little sleep + constant waking up from pressure mat alarm + uncomfortable bed + smoky rooms = me ÷ friends = bad bad move × worse move = crying.

Besides that, I am still rocking out. NEEYAW!!
